Margam Pursuit 10k Race Guide

Firstly, Thank you for taking part in this event.

This race guide contains all the information you need for the Margam Pursuit 10k event on 7th April 2019


Please allow plenty of time to travel, park and get ready for the start.


Number collection will be on the day between 08:00 – 09:30 where you will be given your race pack which will include your Race Number & Timing Chip.
Please try and remember your number to help us speed up registration. (allocated number will be advised by Sunday March 31st)
Please bring photographic identification as we need to ensure that the correct person is running the race. No circumstances are places transferable without prior consent from Just Run Ltd


You will be called into your Wave Pens from 09:30 with a race brief approx 09:50.

The race will start at 10:00am

Waves will be arranged based on expected finished time. You will know expected or targeted time, please ensure to position yourself in the correct wave to ensure a fair and enjoyable run.

Wave 1 – Less the 45 mins – 10:00am
Wave 2 – 46 mins to an 1hr 15 mins – 10:01am
Wave 3 – more than an 1hr 16 mins – 10:02am

We will consider delaying the race should any unforeseen circumstances should occur.


The course is an approx 10k trail race over mixed terrain. Please ensure to be very careful and wear appropriate trail running footwear.

Please familiarise yourself with the course map for the route and while running the course, please ensure to follow the yellow directional signs that will be in place at every junction. We cant be held responsible if any participant does not follow the route.


We have 2 water stations on the course for you. One at around the halfway point & one at the finish area.
When taking water and gels there will be bins on the course please put any rubbish near the bins. We are extremely lucky to have permission to hold the race in the area and we do not want anyone jeopardising the future of the event.


The cut offs for the course are as follows:
All runners are to finish within 3 hours of the start time.
These times are set in accordance to the permission given to us by Margam Country Park.
At any time during the race should a Safety Marshal feel you are under any form distress they can and if necessary remove you from the race, this will not be done lightly it will only put in to action should they feel your health it at risk.


Margam Country Park is world renowned with Mountain Bikers, dog walkers, families and other pedestrians therefore please be mindful of other users and please be courteous at all times.


Medical and first aid is provided by Pegasus Ambulance Services. They will be situated throughout the course with a base at the HQ area.

All runners must complete the details on the back of the race number.

Please do not run if you are feeling unwell for your own safety. We hold other events and therefore there will be many more opportunities.

If you are injured on the course, please go to your nearest marshal point and they will contact Race Control to arrange collection. We have more than enough Marshals on the course and we also have mobile first aides.


Refreshments are available at the food van, serving a selection of hot and cold food and drinks.


Unfortunately there will be no baggage area for this event for extra safety.


Portaloo toilets will are available in the park near the car parking area


After finishing race please ensure to collect your well earned medal and water. Medical staff will be on hand for anyone that needs medical attention.


Parking will be at your own risk. You must park at the discovery centre entrance. Please don't park at the main entrance.
We strongly encourage you to car share or even organise a minibus or coach amongst your club mates to minimise the disruption
